Mikel: Genevieve Is Loveable.

Chelsea of England midfielder Mikel Obi has admitted Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji has a likeable and lovable personality.

Mikel, who is an Amstel Malta Ambassador, spoke as a guest at an event organised by the brand in Lagos.

“We work together, it’s a working relationship,” Mikel said. “We endorsed Amstel Malta together, she’s a very nice person; I spoke to her a few times and she’s a very lovely person,”said Mikel who has been criticised for his below par performance in Brazil at the FIFA World Cup. The Chelsea star is however unpertubed by the criticisms admitting he is always happy to accept criticisms whenever he goes wrong playing for the national team.

“I love when you guys criticise me for not doing something right; I love when you guys praise me as well. So I love all of it.”

“It gives us joy every time we see fans come out and support us and keep praying for us,” he said.

My parents initially didn't want me to marry Soyinka'- wife opens up on love story

Wife of Prof. Wole Soyinka, Folake Soyinka recently opened up on their love story in an interview with The News magazine where she revealed how she and the Nobel laureate met and her parents initial objection to their relationship.

"There were objections from everywhere except from my sisters and brother who were happy if I was. I also had the support of his siblings here. My parents along with most of my relatives objected, not because of anything, they just felt he was too famous and too accomplished. They worried about that. But within a few months after we were married, my parents had changed their mind and they loved him until they passed away. His close friends didn't have a problem with it but also everyone had an opinion. Then came the Nobel Prize in 1986 and that derailed everything for a couple of years. More than a quarter of a century later, those opinions didn't count, we are still trudging along. I have enjoyed love because of him" she said

On how they met;

"I knew he liked me from when I was in the University of Ife but I was young and he was so accomplished so I was kind of worried. After I left Ife and went to do my NYSC in Kaduna state, Dr Biodunjeyifo came to visit me and said Kongi (Prof Wole Soyinka) had been looking for me. After the service year, Dr Yomi Ogunbiyi who was at the Guardian got me a job there and one day, Wole stopped by. Our courtship was interesting" she said

She also revealed that the Nobel laureate, who turned 80 recently, is a great cook;

"He cooks and he is quite good at it. He even cooked about two days ago. When the boys were really little, one day in California, he called all of us to the kitchen and said he wanted to have a family meeting. They were so young I don't even think they had any concept of what a family meeting was. He lined all three according to their heights and asked me to sit. He said he has something to tell us and he was only going to say it once. He whipped some cooking utensils, moved them around noisily in the pot, threw some up, caught them performed a few tricks and then told us to listen. He said there were only three people in the world who can cook pasta like he does; one is dead, the other is in Silica, Italy and he is the third one and he is going to cook something that we have never eaten. He cooked pasta that day and we truly enjoyed it. True dramatist." she said.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother claims she tried to 'abort' the footballer

Inside her recently released autobiography Mãe Coragem (which translates to ‘Mother Courage’) , mother of Critiano Ronaldo, Dolores Aveiro, claimed that she attempted to abort him when she was pregnant by 'drinking warm beer' and 'running until she dropped'

Although she did not give any reason for wanting to abort her unborn child, Dolores said she had approached her doctor to carry out the abortion but he didn't agree with it and refused to do it. She then resorted to doing it herself by drinking warm beer and running with the hope that she would lose the pregnancy.

"I wanted to abort but the doctor didn’t support my decision,” she wrote in her autobiography.

Speaking at the launch of the autobiography in Lisbon yesterday, Dolores said that Ronaldo already knew about his past and even joked about it. "“He told me when he found out, 'Look mum, you wanted to abort me and now I'm the one who’s pulling the purse-strings in the house,'” she said..

• How they met:

• On how he finally proposed years later, Tiwa said:

We had actually come back from Dubai a few days earlier and spent  a week there. I actually thought he was going to propose to me there. I was hoping he would propose while we were in Dubai, so day 1, day 2 day 3 all the way to the 7th day and nothing happened. I was a bit disappointed and was worried like ''Oh My God, is he ever going to propose?" 

But a few days later, on my birthday, he said to me he thinks we should go out with some friends so I was like hell no, I don’t want to go anywhere, I want to be at home, I want to reflect on my life (laughs). So my friend Elohor called me and said every body is waiting for you, just come out so I finally did then it happened.  

He went on his knees and I didn’t even wait to hear what he was saying  because every body was screaming so much. I don’t even know if he actually asked me to marry him but I just screamed yes (laughs) I actually want to thank him specially because he has been a blessing to me

Burna Boy’s mother Bose Ogulu has been played the role of manager since his rise to fame from the start of his career, but the professional relationship between the two has evidently been terminated. Burna overtly declared the new development on Twitter just a few minutes ago, stating that the time has come for his mother to be his mother and his manager to be his manager.

As seen in the Tweet, bookings and enquiries are to be directed to an email that suggests he may be managing himself or employed another manager by himself henceforth. Shouldn’t he be letting himself be himself and his manager be his manager?

Movie producer caught ‘doing it’ with a 17 year old girl with Promises he’ll give her A Movie role

A movie producer in Ghana has been arrested by the police force in the country after the said man was caught with a 17 year old girl, The producer was said to have promised to get her a movie role ,Apparently, the Producer promised to feature the girl in one of the top movies in Ghana.

According to information gathered ,The producer went further to convince the girl to sleep with him to enable him put her name on the final list. The naive little girl accepted his proposition and then went to meet him at an unknown location. After enjoying the girl, the producer didn’t feature the girl on any movie.

This so called Movie Producer is allegedly known for sleeping around with small girls with promises of featuring them in movies. The father of the girl found out about what happened to his daughter and then went straight to the producer’s house with Police to arrest him. On getting to the producer apartment they caught him red handed having canal knowledge of another young lady.

This happens in Nollywood on daily bases…but it’s none of my business.

On Saturday 5th July 2014, one half of the Nigerian pop group was a year older. His brother Peeshaunand manager Moses planned a surprise house party for him which saw about 25 of his closest friends in attendance.

Spotted at the party were Phyno, Susan Peters, Olamide, Zeez, Juliet and Sonia Ibrahim, Moet Abebe, Eddie Lawani, and Stephanie Henshaw.

The birthday man and his friends partied all night long to non-stop music, and drinks.
