World-famous Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has been nominated for the Bailey’s Women’s Prize for Fiction alongside 19 other women.
Chimamanda has previously won the award with 'Half of A Yellow Sun' when it was known as Orange Prize for fiction. The award is for women published in English and is now being sponsored by liquor company, Baileys
Her nomination is for her latest book, Americanah . She is the only African nominated.
The winner goes home with a award of 30,000 pounds or $ 50,000.
Donna Tartt with 'The Goldfinch', Margaret Atwood of 'MaddAddam' and Eleanor Catton of 'The Luminaries' are some of the other nominees
Six finalists will be announced on April 7th and winner will be revealed on June 4th.
