Aviation ministry acquires rickety buses as airport shuttle

No fewer than 10 rickety buses have been acquired and parked at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos for the use of shuttle between the temporary car park and the terminal of the airport. National Mirror gathered that the vehicles were brought in by the Ministry of Aviation at yet to be known rates.
Our correspondent who saw some of the vehicles parked at MMIA road, observed that apart from the fact that the buses were not new, some of them were also in bad condition.
Although, the vehicles have not started operating within the airport environment, but some workers within the airport decried that such buses were not fit for the airport environment. As at the time of filing this report, the prices of the buses could not be ascertained by our correspondent.
When our correspondent called the General Manager, Corporate Communications, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Mr. Yakubu Dati, he did not respond to his calls while a text message to his mobile phone was not equally returned.
